AUDLEY SURVIVES SERIOUS CAR ACCIDENT!
Out of next week’s bout!

Audley Harrison was involved in a head on collision while driving home after training yesterday. Audley had just finished training at Buddy McGirt's gymnasium in Vero Beach and was driving with Kelvyn Travis heading to get some food, when a driver failed to yield and pulled out right in front of him on US Highway 1. The impact totally craved in the front of the rental car and Audley and the driver of the other car were both taken to the Indian River Memorial hospital in an ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Audley sustained a head trauma, wrist injury, shoulder injury and multiple contusions which required a CAT scan and X-Ray to establish the extent of injuries. Audley was able to leave the hospital that evening with a prescription of pain killers and is awaiting the results of an MRI scan on his shoulder. Kelvyn Travis, Audley's long time Olympic Coach was bruised and swollen from the incident but did not receive hospital treatment.

Audley said: “I'm lucky and thank God for ensuring all parties involved in this incident were able to survive this crash. I was feeling buoyant about getting in the ring next week and was looking forward to my new venture with Dennis Hobson. Unfortunately, my hand is so swollen and sore I've been told by the doctor I'm out for 4-6 weeks. I'm waiting for the results of the MRI Scan to see if I've ruptured my pectoralis muscle in my chest which is currently in a sling, but hope to be back in the ring once I'm given the all clear to resume training.”

More updates will follow in due course.
