AForce Promotions

A Force Promotions was created by Audley Harrison M.B.E., in 2001 after a successful amateur career that culminated with an Olympic Gold Medal at the 2000 Olympics. Audley has a degree in Sports Science and Leisure Management from Brunel University in 1999.

A Force Promotions concluded a lucrative deal with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in 2001, to promote Audley Harrison live to the British population. The deal was the first direct Athlete – Broadcaster deal completed in the United Kingdom, for an amateur boxer turning professional.

A Force Promotions first event was billed as the ‘homecoming’ and was held at Wembley Arena on May 19th, 2001. Audley knocked out American journeyman Mike Middleton in the 1st round. The audience in attendance was 6000 and the viewing figures on BBC television peaked at 6.5million.

A Force Promotions established itself as an emerging promoter in the UK, by successfully promoting Audley Harrison in Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bristol and London. Additionally, A Force Promotions sold broadcaster rights to numerous territories throughout the world for Audley’s first 17 contests.

A Force Promotions were able to negotiate numerous sponsorship deals, that included Cantor Fitzgerald as his main sponsor. Additionally, a book deal was concluded in 2001 and Audley’s autobiography ‘realising the dream’ was released, telling his story of childhood incarceration and school expulsion, to winning Britain’s first medal in boxing in 32 years.

In 2003, Audley created A Force Promotions INC in America and concluded a 3 fight deal with ESPN. A Force Promotions promoted in Miami, Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada. Audley gained valuable American exposure and A Force Promotions was now operating on both sides of the Atlantic.

In 2004, A Force Promotions association with the BBC came to an end and Audley left the UK and aligned himself with AL Haymon and based himself in Las Vegas. Audley had two fights under this association and boxed on Fox Sports acclaimed ‘Best Damn Sport Show’.

Audley Harrison was regarded as a future Heavyweight Champion and was unbeaten in 18 fights, before suffering his first defeat in 2005, losing on split decision to his arch rival Danny Williams. He avenged the defeat in devastating fashion the following year, watched by an audience of eight million on Independent Television (ITV).

The goal at A Force Promotions is to create opportunities for Audley Harrison in the Heavyweight Division and maximize his image and personality through sponsorships and associations with key stakeholders in the industry and beyond.
